Fantasia Keeps It Interesting
My Tivo viewing of the "American Idol" results shows typically goes like this: Hit play before immediately fast-forwarding through everything to get to the actual results. But last night something stopped me dead in my tracks: a Kool-Aid colored Fantasia Barrino! Now, I have a horrifying fear of clowns but for some reason Fantasia's Bozo do' didn't bother me. In fact, I loved it!
The unexpected dash of diva brought something to "Idol" that has been sorely missing for the last few weeks: unpredictability! Granted, you were never 100 percent sure who was going to be sent home, but it didn't matter since everyone knew who the final two would be. And like Nostradamus before me, I predicted perfectly.
So now we're left with a David duel as Archuleta and Cook bring you the first male showdown since season two! Are you happy with the final two? Personally, I think it should make for a very interesting finale!
The story of Fantasia
Fantasia Monique Barrino (born June 30, 1984), or simply Fantasia, is a multiple Grammy Award-nominated R&B/soul singer and award-winning Broadway actress who rose to fame as the winner of the third season of the television series American Idol in 2004. Her first album, Free Yourself, was certified platinum and received four Grammy nominations. Her second album, Fantasia, was certified gold, received three Grammy nominations and featured the 8-week #1 Billboard Hot R&B hit "When I See U." Following a critically acclaimed run on Broadway as Celie in the musical, The Color Purple, Fantasia was cast to star in the movie version of the musical, which is slated to begin production in 2009.
